melbourneresumes.com.au review and discount codes

Tired of an endless job-searching process, I started looking up for someone who could assist me in some way. I considered some sort of career coaching first, but then realized that the problem might have been in my resume. So, I found this Australia-based company with its bright but a bit awkward design, offering resume writing and career branding services. The site also has resume samples and describes their process

Prices

Prices are available on a separate page. The price for resume roughly varies from $199 to almost $1500, depending on the complexity and career level. LinkedIn is $295 or above, cover letter is $150. I suppose this price level was average, so I didn’t hesitate to order. The website offered me to start with free quote and evaluation, and I was later informed that the package would cost me $550.

Resume writing process

Upon payment they emailed me a questionnaire to complete. As I learned from this website, some other companies like HERE only ask for resume. Here I spent plenty of time trying to answer all their questions. As soon as I sent the completed questionnaire back to them, I was told that the writer started working on my resume. From that point on, I haven’t heard from anyone for around 5 days. They state that after the resume is written, it passes the quality assurance and only then is being delivered to the customer.

Quality of writing and support

At a glimpse on my resume it looked well-designed and attractive, but after a thorough read it seemed to me that the writer included a lot of unnecessary detail in both resume and cover letter. As I had one week to ask for revision, I requested to make my document more tailored. I had to wait for another two days; and when I looked at it, I thought they could have worked on it more. I contacted them mostly on the phone, so not sure how often they respond to emails.

Conclusion

Quite long process, professional design and average quality – this is what I can say about my experience with the company. Moreover, they apparently are not 24/7. To sum up: yes, you can use them, but I believe you can find the company which will access your needs better.
